This panel brings together BI practitioners and experts from national, provincial and municipal governments in Canada. These leaders have built behavioural insights practices in government and will reflect on the challenges they faced, solutions the generated, and opportunities they see in practicing behavioural insights in the public policy space.

Poster presentations will be offered by public servants and academics summarizing research findings in behavioural insights and public policy. Potential topics include poverty reduction, inclusion and diversity, crime and criminal justice, taxation, health, and more.

1:45 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. Lightning Talks
In ten minutes or less, Canadian researchers and practitioners will present findings and conclusions of their work. Possible themes include emerging policy challenges, nudging, new initiatives in government, methodological insights, etc.

3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Panel II – Current Trends in BI in Public Policy – Diversity
Behavioural insights is being applied to help de-bias hiring practices and increase diversity of various kinds in public organizations. The thought leaders on this panel are on the cutting edge of applying BI and innovative techniques to increase personnel diversity, and will discuss their insights on how best to leverage behavioural science for this important topic.
